Voices of 6th Street: Wednesday 8/12
As 6th Street Center for Youth prepares to close its doors, we are creating a special space exclusively for current and former 6th Street youth to come together, reflect, and share their stories.
When/Where:
Chico City Hall - Hands Sculpture
Wednesday, August 12th
5:00 PM
This gathering is separate from the upcoming BBQ (which will be on August 14th) and is intended specifically for youth who have been part of the 6th Street family. We want to hear about your experiences, memories, challenges, successes, and the impact the center has had on your journey. There will also be another chance to speak at the BBQ as well.
If 6th Street played a role in your life, we invite you to join us and, if you'd like, share your story. Your voice is an important part of the legacy of this place and the community that was built here.
Please fill out our online form so that you may submit your story before the day of the event. You may choose to speak, or if you want to remain anonymous but want your words heard, 6th Street staff will read it for you.
You can also submit a paper form. If you're submitting a paper form, please drop it by 6th Street so that we may review prior to the event.
Thank you to all for all the support you have given us over the years.
What do you wish the community knew about the 6th Street Center?
What has the 6th Street Center done for you?
Please make readings 2-5 minutes long. Readings can be read by you, or submitted anonymously to be read by staff.
