Local organizations serving young people including School Ties, PATH Scholars, 6th Street, Stonewall, HEART, Junior Leadership Development, Stairways Programming and Without a Roof are working hard to raise awareness of the homeless youth crisis through events offered all month long!

Chico Tellabration!

It’s almost Tellabration time again! This year’s line-up is looking great. Get your tickets early and save some bucks!


This year’s event brings you stories of “Where the Heart is”, with special feature John Craigie, local tellers Santy Gray, Melissa Hormann, youth from the 6th Street Center, and a few surprises!

Event proceeds benefit 6th Street Center for Youth, a homeless youth drop-in center in downtown Chico, and Our Stars~Our Stories, a local storytelling organization encouraging storytelling events and programming in the Chico community.

Doors open at 6 p.m.  Show starts at 7 p.m.

*Online registration closes at noon the Friday before the walk. However, anyone who would like to participate can register in person at the walk! Please know that walk donations are accepted until December 31st 2013.

The Out of the Darkness Community Walks are 3-5 mile walks taking place in hundreds of communities across the country this year, with the proceeds benefiting the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). By walking in the Out of the Darkness Community Walks, you will be walking with thousands of other walkers nationwide to raise money for AFSP’s vital research and education programs to prevent suicide and save lives, increase national awareness about depression and suicide, and provide support for survivors of suicide loss. In deciding to walk you are taking us a step closer to making suicide prevention a national priority.
